Volunteer With Us
Turning Pages SC is a 501(c)3 run on the power of people who believe in possibilities. Without our volunteers our impact would not exist. As a friend of Turning Pages, you can play a vital role in helping adults in the Midlands of South Carolina improve their literacy skills.
Your friendship helps drive board meetings, sustain business systems, provide free tutoring services, pack curriculum kits, offer professional development opportunities for tutors, as well as help to raise awareness about the importance of adult literacy in our community.
Here are some ways you can support Turning Pages SC.
We use volunteers in these areas:
- Board of Directors – Applicants Click Here
- Reading Tutors (1 hour sessions, once per week, 24 weeks)
- Book Club Promotion & Facilitation
- Learner Intake and Assessment (weekdays, hours vary)
- Basic Office Cleaning (1 hour per month)
- Tutor Training – Training Helpers (in-office, few times per year)
- Wellness Committee (scripted phone calls to check on learner needs)
- Review Committee (reviews website, forms and documents for errors)
